Zen Trading on a Red Day
I am submitting this a bit early tonight because I have a lot on my plate. I was surprisingly pleased with how my trades went today despite the red U.S. indices. I was able to find personal Zen in the trades I made today knowing that they'd all farewell with patience. I hope everyone was able to find at least some green in their portfolio. That being said, here were the insider transactions that I saw today thus far. Perhaps, I'll log back on later & edit this with more tickers that crossed the wires later in the evening. I've got the keep this brief but I did note that Warren Buffet acquired 208,500 shares of BRKB while disposing 87,828 shares (likely exercising options but I never pulled the form). I'm calling it quits early tonight but keep in mind to look for insiders to be stockpiling or dumping shares into earnings reports & watch for the tickers that continue to make the lists.

No Time - 13D/G Quickie
I didn't have a ton of time to do anything today as my little girl has a fever & some sort of illness. Tomorrow may be much of the same & if so, I will take her to the doctor. Either way, I did collect 13D's & G's today so I may as well share. Here's what I gathered. I wish I could have grabbed more but as mentioned, time was of the essence so this report is a quickie.
13D's: DSKY, HFFC (-), BITI (-), AQXP (+), XONE (-), LOV (-), SHAK (+) (2), SBSA (-), AMS, ENLK, CTRP, TNGO, AER (-) & CRVP (-)
13G's: PTLA, GYRO, CPTP, HOS (-), SEIC (-), SPSC (-), RBCN (-), VG (-), WNS (-), GAIA (+), GTT (+), NCI (-), KNL (-), HEI/A (-), CVCO (-), AMBR (-), SCSS, AKRX (-), SASR (-), RPXC (-), TFM (+), ASBC (-), PGTI (-), FWRD (-), FRGI, QUOT, SRPT (-), SHAS (-), WIFI (+), LMOS, GLGLG (-), CPHD (-), RUSHA (-), CATO, RUSHB (-), MGRC (-), LKFN (-), MBFI (-), DW (-), RATE (+), VRTU (-), MTN (-), CHEF (-), GNRC (-), MTD (-), MOG/A (1), THR (-), TRND (-), TWER (-), ESE (-), EDR (-), BUSE (-), BUSE, FLDM, SALE, CVT, TXTR, DCI (-), NDSN (-), NEWP (-), DDC, NOA, EXLS, PCCC (-), AWRE, NWPX (+), NRIM, PKE (+), PICO (-), AWRE, PCMI (+), PRCP (+), PRIE, FOR (+), III, TIAOF, TRCO (-), PEIX, TPUB (-), VER/PF, NDRM, MRKT (-), BRCPF (-), HURC, ZGNX (+), HCOM (-), NRX (+), SALE (-), FLDM (+), EXLS (+), NDSN (+), DCI (+), NOA (+) & DDC (-)
I don't typically give out the increases nor decreases but I did tonight because it's such a short report. For anyone seeing this for the first time, the plus sign is an increase to their stake & the minus is obviously a decrease or possibly sell out completely. If it's not marked then it is a new position or a new buy of 5% or higher into the investment. You will see some repeats. The first that comes up is for BUSE. The reason is that some hedge sold their stake in BUSE but someone else took a new position of 5% or higher in BUSE today. I know DCI & SALE both had similar occurrences & there may be others that I'm failing to mention.
On that note, we have a super green Asian Market view right now which will likely spew into a green European Market & then a green US open. There are many reports tomorrow such as the Jobless Report at 8:30 a.m. EST, the Natural Gas at 10:30 a.m. EST & then the Oil at 11:00 a.m. EST. Out of pure speculation here, I'm calling a green day until that Oil Report comes through & then back to volatility. That being said, my plan tomorrow is to enter TVIX during the rally in the morning sometime before 11 a.m. EST.
Well, that's all I have folks unless you want me to bring up the Julian Baker & AQXP. I hope everyone plays smart tomorrow.

Exhausted in a Bear Market
Wow, I'm beat! I totally was exhausted all day which lead me straight into a stupid bull trap this morning. Dang it! I went off the five minute chart alone when I bought LABU. I've traded LABU/LABD before but it's been several months & I have never even viewed it's fact sheet until today, after it was too late. LABU would have been a heck of a short today but I went long & set a stop loss with intentions of going for a simple neighborhood stroll with my daughter only to return to find that my stop didn't take. In my mind, I was thinking I could average it down & sell it because the volatility scale on it is huge but as I look at the Asian markets & our futures, I'm thinking that's something I'll save for later in the game since things are looking ugly. I don't normally dive straight into one like this without more knowledge but I just kind of went for it today because I was exhausted & using poor judgement. Hopefully, I learned my lesson on this one or it makes an amazing turn around tomorrow but I'm not counting on the latter.
Now for Tuesday's insider transactions I saw. I know that there were more than these but I got as many as I could & hopefully somebody benefits off this list:
Form 3's: THC (2), ADP, SRDX, MLHR, WGO, DHG, KHI, KMM, KTF, KSM, CEE, GF, MDCRE, GRCK, EOX, LAYN, ETAK PNC (2), SYNL, HTWR, MUC, DFS, AVID, CB (3), ENLK (5), AMEH, KEG, REPR, CARB, STRS (2), SKLN, RRTS, USAK, ETRM, GST, ISR & INTN

13G's: LRCX, MC, IPDN, LPT, NX, MCRI, MTRX, EVOK, MNI, III, UNB, CTLT, AERI, XCLL, REPR, NTGR, OCLR, CSIQ, OIIM, REGI, ABDC, KEM, KVHI, OESX, KTCC, KTOS, LMIA, TAX, LAYN, LDR, LYTS, LNN, MKSI, MVC, MYRG, EEI, JKHY, TALN, KLAC, KSS, LHO, EVI, LON, ACU, THST, LXFT, BDBD, MBUU, LRY, XGTI, CGIX, NSSC, CLCD, WGBS, AERI, STCK, MDLY, CMRX, NPK, NP, POZN, NANO, DSW, SUNE, NNBR, MUEL, MOV, MTX, ETH, MLR, CTRL, MDP & MRCY
I hate to sound like a broken record but pay close attention to insiders as we are amidst the fourth quarter reports for many companies. I didn't note for you whether the Form 13's were raised, lowered, new nor terminated but if it's a ticker you're interested in, I advise you pull the forms up to research. Also, pay attention the the repeaters that are seen day after day or the one's that cross multiple lists. This usually is a great signal that something is changing with the company that you are following.
That being said, here are the only notes I have to share beginning with the insider buys. Mr. Warren Buffett was our largest insider buyer scooping up almost $56 million worth of shares of Phillips 66 (PSX). He was joined by the board of director of PSX bringing the level invested into the company to a soaring mark. This was by far & away the largest purchase today. The most consistent purchase today went to AYR because that one has been daily for a long time now but HCI is beginning to follow suit. The difference today with HCI is that it did see some selling today but that was likely only a pre-planned transaction for the investor who's been buying this daily for quite sometime. As for the CFO's that I saw buying today, they work for the following companies: OCRX, PCAR, RSG, MDCRE, YORW, HAE, OHI, OLLI, SSFN, MNR, ASB & LAYN. A couple of interesting buys I caught today from the Form 13's came through via Steve Cohen taking new stake in POZN & DSW. Welcome back, Steve! Julian bought some BLCM too, if anyone was wondering.
I didn't take too many notes on the selling side because nothing too out of the ordinary caught my eye. All that I have is that Mastercard (MA) was the largest sale dropping over $14 million worth of its own shares. I also noted that Chase (CCF) made the sale list following the credit card theme. Then I have the CFO's that work for the following companies disposing their shares: ABM, ARQL, BDIC, OLLI, SGY, HCN, CUK, CCL, BLD, IONS, PKY, GRPN, SWPH, ZEN, PENN, NBTB, XNPT, OAS, MAS, PDCE, HOV, CVLT, CBU, HCI, TINY, LEG, ATU & GB
Anyhow, tomorrow looks like another bad day for the street & I'm happily still in possession of some of my precious, super cheap TVIX. I hope everyone is able to find some sort of profit out there.

Ides of January
With the Ides of January upon us, we seemed to have put our foot on our accelerator straight towards the bear market that we have been preparing for. Though the media is still not declaring it, we seemed to have broken support of some of the major US indices. A bear market was declared within the European Stoxx 600 earlier in the day, before US markets had opened. This surely impacted the fear factor when markets did open in the US. Now that we are into a long weekend, it's a big wonder of where are markets are headed into Tuesday morning considering the rest of the international markets will be open on Monday. Typically, we'd see the red continue with a blow this big but it's still possible that we could see a relief rally come into play.
Regardless, I only sold some of the TVIX that I've been carrying since December 31st at over $11/share. I am still holding a fair amount of my initial purchase of TVIX through the weekend (& likely beyond). I can always pick up more on Tuesday (or whatever day) it goes on sale. This is my insurance during the decline. Also, I wasn't comfortable holding DUST over the long weekend so I sold it just above $17.50/share. I was fortunate enough to find my portfolios in the green today & hope that I can continue making the right moves to keep it that way while we head into this ambiguity.
Now here were the insiders that I tracked on Friday:

Beginning with the insider buying, the largest purchase was for PSX fro $121,457,348 worth of shares bought by Berkshire Hathaway. The other substantial buy that struck me today was made by Julian Baker who bought more of AQXP which increased his holdings high enough to now own 40.4% of the company. Julian is always a good hedge founder to follow when it comes to biotechs. The CFO's that I saw buying today work for: SHLM, DTOR, RGC, CERN, SO & CSX.
On the selling list, the sales were for much lower amounts today than the buys. The top sale was nearly $11 million worth of shares sold of BDBD followed by almost $6 million worth of shares sold by PANW. The CFO's selling today work for: ACSM, LIOX, ADF, PEO, CVLT, BKEP, BDBD, BOKF, MAC, JPM, KSS, DIS, NOW & MAA. This personally scares me because the insiders tend to know what's up with the financials & tend to protect themselves into earnings reports. Seeing DIS on this list makes me think they may miss their estimate. Disney is a long hold for me that I was looking to average down on next week but now I'm having second thoughts.
Either way, I hope everyone is able to enjoy their long weekend & hopefully this write up helps you in someway to be more prepared for the bell on Tuesday.

Red Market While I Skied
Honestly, I was supposed to train today for my next Alpine Certification as a Professional Skier. I blew it off because I was obviously glued to the market while my daughter was eating breakfast. That was when I knew that neither of us would realistically make it on time & that I needed to set up my buy & sell orders so that I could just go skiing without my mind elsewhere. Days like today cause me to make dumb decisions so I've learned it's best to walk away. Luckily, I was in good bets...yes, bets. They were educated bets but still bets. I ended up selling most of my DUST at some point today & holding majority of the TVIX shares that I still possess. My prediction was for a red day today followed by a fairly volatile, turbulent Thursday & Friday. Now that I'm seeing the other markets reacting to our red day & the futures, I'm happy I'm still holding my insurance. I have a couple longs that I never really disclose but they should weather the next couple of sessions well. I'm glad I ultimately did chose skiing today (though I missed training) versus being a stock jock & making a bad decision.
I'm going to keep this short because I'm fairly exhausted & would like to get some sleep tonight so that being said, here were the insider transactions that I was able to track today:
Form 3's: ANTH, APT, CLH, SSH, SSD, RESX, LNC, JBHT, ZDPY (2), YOD, WWW, VRNS, CLX, LOB, AMCC, PCM, PCQ, PCK, PZC, PCN, PTY, ST, ENLK, PFL, ABT, PFN, PGP, PHK, DFRG, PKO, BPMC, PMF, TEN, PML, PMX, PNF, PNI, PYN, RCS, VWR, LFVN, IACI, FLO (2), ICUI, MDU, SBUX, CABO, CTIC, AFCO, GST & CSWC (2)

Insider Trading is Quieting Down for a Minute
So I said I'd be back to blogging the insiders right after the New Year but I clearly lied. Sorry for any of my readers that were counting on me. The fact of the matter is that the amount of forms that poured through from December 31st overwhelmed me. There was definitely a lot of behind the scenes business going on the last day of 2015 & they finally all pushed through yesterday. The forms that you'll see on my list tonight are from January 4, 2016 to current (all with filing dates from today - January 7, 2016). I hope that everyone was able to hedge some of their investments or buy some securities during this turbulent start to 2016. TVIX has been my saviour & I'm still holding. In my opinion, tomorrow is going to be much of the same as today. It's going to take a hot minute to get back to green. That being said, I'm still awaiting my clearance shares of Disney (DIS) that I've been patiently awaiting to average out my $105 shares. Other than that, I'm really not in a lot of trades & will enter all trades I make with extreme caution & a plan. That being said, here are the insiders that I saw today:

Because I don't want anyone to follow what I suggest during this volatile period, I'm just going to give you a short closing here from today. First off, we often see "acquirements for $0" that counter the insider sales of the same ticker. We also see the opposite. Often times, when this is occurring it is due to changes in the Board or in Management (not always but often). But...there are sometimes where we see insiders buying & selling the exact same stocks at the same time, though. I track these but don't typically share it in the blog. This will be the only thing extra I will share with you tonight.
The first I have listed is ANDE where 13 insiders bought & sold the stock. ANDE actually had more selling going on than buying but masked it by having forms on both sides. The next is FBP with more insiders buying, then ACN with more insiders buying, Halo with more insiders buying & finally JNS with more sales than purchases.
All in all, the insider transactions have finally quieted down enough for me to blog so I will have one for you to use in your homework toolkit for the weekend. That's all I have for tonight.

Peace Out 2015 & Cheers to 2016
So I wasn't planning to track the insiders today but after I did track them, I really started to feel behind & somewhat regret not following them for the past several trading sessions. Regardless, tonight's list is rather light & was easy for me to create even though I did teach skiing today. Since I'm under the wire to publish before the East Coast rings in the New Year, I figured it's now or never for my last post of 2015. Here were the insiders that I tracked from Thursday, December 31, 2015:
Form 3's: TMP, RWLK (14), PPC, SGRY, YOD & RBA (16)
13D's: YOD, FSFR, FSC, VRX, OPOF, NKE, WBA (2), SSP, ARBJ, MXWL, ELTP, APPF, VISN & EGY
13G's: CVA, QLTI, PTX & GLMP
Form 4's (Insider Buys): MUX. AME (10), OPK, SONA, SYRG (2), FRAF (5), AMPG, AT (5), AFSI, XCO, RSCF (3), CLMS, JRO, GPCM, CODI, FKYS, SPDL (6), GBL, RAVN, LPAD (2), HRT, HCI, CLIR (4), ANGI, EUSP, TMK, INCY (4), RVLT, CUNB, WPT, UTI, HNRG, GSBD, CCD, JSD, GPCM, MPAY, TAGS, IGXT, MRLN & FFFC
Form 4's (Insider Acquirements for $0): SGB (3), AME, AOI (9), TW (7), SCI (4), AKER (4), GEVO (8), EAC, SPKE, PAA, ROCK, HBMD, BCOV (5), ISCO (3), TRMR, CCMP, HNRG, VAC, APO (4), ARI (7), HLT (4), WBA, NTRA, WCG & GOOG
Form 4's (Insider Sales): ORMP, INCR, LXP, AMWD, CSCD, FLO (4), SYRG (3), EPZM, COB (5), USPH, ICFI, UTHR, UCFC, DRE, GOOG, OLBK, NSL, GEVO (8), NTK, HSKA, LDL, CMN, TUBE, LOAN, OXY, ROCK, GBL, HMPR, SMSI (2), STON, SEDG, ANSS, RNR, MBI, SHAK, MPV, O, CBYL, ANAD (4), ORLY, TWI, MTSI (2), SCSC, OPHT, HRB, WBA, NLSN, CRM, NTRA (2), GNCMA, SWKS, DIL.NZ, W (2) & PATK (2)
Form 4's (Insider Disposals for $0): RJF, GRMN, DVD, CINF (4), HDSN, INNV, BKE, LPAD, CCMP, HNRG, CPIX, OZRK (2), AIV, WMT (4) & STML (2)
Since I have skipped so many days, I feel like my notes be a little lacking as I haven't been following repeat buyers & sellers & other things I like to track. Therefore, I'm going to keep this wrap up fairly simple.
The only notes that I really took on the 13D/G's & Form 3's go as follows. I saw that RWLK & RBA both had several new insiders leading me to believe they are either IPO's or there has been a changing of the guard (please bear in mind that I have not yet done any due diligence on these companies yet). I also observed that YOD made both the 13D increase list & had a new insider file a Form 3. Then, I also noted that WBA had two hedge funds or insiders increase their positions which is interesting as it was also on the sell list (in my opinion, as a diversion). Finally, I noted that one of the hedges increased their position in VRX.
On the buying side, I only noted that ANGI was the largest monetary value purchase that I saw with just over $2 million worth of shares picked up via an institutional buyer. I also noted that the CFO's who were buying into their companies work for: RSCF, IGXT, RVLT & AME. The CFO's whom acquired shares for free today work for: APO, ARI, CCMP, BCOV & GEVO.
On the selling side, I only noted that Brin Sergey (co-founder of Google who has been selling for awhile) has sold over $26 million more of his shares off. He was able to acquire a healthy handful for free to replace some of them, though. That was today's monetary largest sale. Other than that, I noted that the CFO's selling some of their shares today work for: HSKA, W, HRB, SMSI, GEVO, COB & LXP. GEVO was another company where the CFO seller (& the other inside sellers of GEVO) disposed of shares for money & in turn, acquired shares for free (just in case you hadn't noticed).
With that brief amount of information, I trust that everyone will be able to do their own due diligence to determine if some of these companies may be of interest.
Personally, 2015 was a doozy for me where I kind of got destroyed beginning with the Grexit & continuing throughout August. Since that, I have definitely fought back for a lot of losses & tracking the insiders has been one of the key elements for my gains. Also, I definitely would like to thank several of my friend's in the trading world that helped me get my head back on my shoulders after my account took some beatings (you know who you are & I am ever so grateful). It's amazing what some kind words & some helpful mentoring can do. I truly think this is one of those passions that we can always learn more as we go which is similar to my other passion skiing which they say is fairly easy to learn but takes a lifetime to master. I hope that we all learn & master more in 2016.
On that note, I wish you all a very healthy, wealthy & wise 2016!
